The League Management Committee has today received a response from Mike Appleby, FA National Leagues Manager, on the subject of West Didsbury and Chorlton's application to join the Vodkat League for season 2010-11.
The communication reads as follows.
"The issue of West Didsbury & Chorlton FC seeking to move to Step 6 has been considered by the Leagues Committee. The views of the Manchester Football League were sought. They have lodged their opposition to this move. The Leagues Committee took on board the views of the Manchester Football League and recommended that the club should not be allowed to move. The club were advised accordingly.
"I have again spoken with the Chairman of the Leagues Committee who has re affirmed this decision. I have also been in contact on a number of occasions with the Manchester League who have again expressed their objection to the move.
"Therefore, in accordance with Regulation 6.1, the Leagues Committee do not sanction the movement of West Didsbury & Chorlton FC to Step 6 of the National League System.
Vodkat League Secretary John Deal said: "We are obviously very disappointed with the view that has been taken, and the League is now in the process of preparing a response to the FA on this matter".
